Coachd ("Coachd", "we", "us", or "our") provides a training-journal platform that connects combat-sports coaches and athletes. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies to the Coachd mobile app and website.
Information We Collect
We collect the information you provide when you create an account and use Coachd:
- Account information: your name, email address, password, and whether you are a coach or an athlete.
- Profile information (optional): age, gender, height, weight, city, weight class, experience level, and fight record.
- Training data: session logs (type, duration, rounds, calories, notes, and how you felt), journal entries, weight logs, weight targets, tasks, training plans, questions, and challenge activity.
- Relationship data: the coach–athlete connections you form and any messages exchanged within the app.
- Location (optional): if you grant permission, we use your approximate location to help match athletes and coaches by city. You can decline this and still use the core features.
- Device information: basic technical data needed to deliver the service, including push-notification tokens if you enable notifications.
How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account and authenticate you.
- To provide core features: logging sessions, sharing training data with a connected coach, tracking weight, and messaging.
- To send you a confirmation email at sign-up and, if enabled, notifications about coach or athlete activity.
- To operate, maintain, secure, and improve Coachd.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
How Information Is Shared
- With your coach or athletes: training data you mark as "shared" is visible to the coach you are connected with. Data you mark as "private" is visible only to you.
- Service providers: we use trusted providers to run Coachd — Supabase (database, authentication, and hosting), Resend (sending account emails), and Expo (app infrastructure and push notifications). These providers process data only to provide their services to us.
- Legal reasons: we may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and our service.
Data Retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, your profile and associated training data are permanently removed from our systems.
Your Rights & Choices
- Access and update: you can view and edit your profile and training data at any time in the app.
- Deletion: you may request deletion of your account and data by contacting us at the address below. Deleting your account removes your profile and the data linked to it.
- Location: you can turn location permission on or off in your device settings.
- Notifications: you can disable push notifications in your device settings.
Security
We use industry-standard measures — including encrypted connections and access controls — to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to safeguard your data and limit access to it.
Children's Privacy
Coachd is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be communicated within the app or by email where appropriate.
